Dr. Tony Thomas is a native San Antonian and grew up in a neighborhood across the street from Clark High School. At the age of 13, his family moved to the Seattle area, where he completed high school. He graduated from University of Washington in 1988, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and minored in Chemistry.

After college, Dr. Thomas worked as a web developer for several years, before deciding he wanted to focus his career in health care. He moved to New York City in 2003 to attend New York University College of Dentistry and graduated in 2007. He completed a one-year General Practice Residency at St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx.
